Krizya Ugrate

Dragonflies Lead Teacher

Hi there, My name is Krizya and I am excited to be your child's teacher this year.

I joined MMO Programs in 2024. I have been teaching Early Childhood Education since 2008. In previous years I have been taught using Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences, Play based curriculum, and Reggio Emila/Bank Street pedagogy. I have had the pleasure of Co-leading a Spanish Immersion Program for ages 3 through 4 as well. A few of the things I enjoy are reading spooky stories, spending time with my family (I have 3 brothers and 5 sisters), and collecting crystals. I love listening to music, especially Spanish music and going to concerts! My favorite holiday is Halloween

Themes

Throughout the year, we will focus on a variety of developmental milestones tailored to our age group. Our goal is to support growth not only physically but also in areas such as vocabulary expansion, peer socialization, and self-awareness.

Through play-based, hands-on discovery, children will engage with our classroom centers, which include a dramatic play area, blocks and vehicles, tactile exploration, and a reading library.

With the guidance of our dedicated and knowledgeable staff, along with a low adult-to-child ratio of 1:5, we will foster children's growth across all developmental domains. Additionally, we will explore a range of themes, which will enhance our learning experiences throughout the year. Those themes may include:

Friendships

Class rules and Routine

Holidays

Apples

Winter

Fall Leaves

Spring

Mother's Day

Father's Day

Nature

Emotions

Transporation

Families

Earth Day

Shapes and Colors

Important Reminders

Each day your child should come to school with a backpack, AM and PM snacks, a lunch inside a lunchbox, and a water bottle (filled at home). These items need to be clearly labeled with your child's name.

If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home.

This helps them to heal faster, but also keeps their peers and teachers from healthy. Be sure to send a message on brightwheel if your child will not be attending school.

If your child is sent home due to illness, THEY MAY NOT RETURN TO SCHOOL THE FOLLOWING DAY. For example, if they are sent home Monday the earliest they can return is Wednesday.

If your child is newly potty trained, please speak with me before sending them to school in underwear. More information on our school toileting polices can be found in your family handbook.

A small stuffed animal or lovely is okay to bring for rest time.

We are not responsible for lost or broken items.

Special Events

Throughout the year we proudly celebrate special events as a community. We invite you to join us for our Fall Festival, Thanksgiving feast, classroom holiday parties, Special Persons Day and End of year

Celebration. Your participation at these events enriches our community and fosters a sense of connection.

If you would like to celebrate your child's birthday in class, please reach out via Brightwheel, or email. Some families choose to send in individual goody bags to take home or treats for morning snack.

Additionally, I encourage parents to come in the morning and read a book to the class with your child and create a birthday poster board with family pictures.
